Thank you for these videos! I'm an American living in Denmark, and I'm planning on moving to Zagreb for grad school so it's really nice to hear some US perspective on how it is to live there!

Hey I remember this site from a long time ago, just that now the videos are no longer available. I'm black, and I'm contemplating going to Croatia on holiday on my own some time. Now obviously I might attract people's gaze,I've been to Argentina so that doesn't phase me. What I am worried about is if I were to go out in the streets day or night or the beaches, (excluding ignorant skinheads)would I be made to feel unwelcome by the locals etc.

Hey there
Thanks for responding. Well first off, I will say that you won't have any problems on the Croatian coast. It will be high tourist time. There will not be any harassing skinheads or anything like. Croatian cities have dramatically less violent crime than in the US.

Just use your street smarts, be aware of your surroundings, day and night, keep your valuables close and hidden, and don't walk around late at night by yourself

I only had ONE skinhead incident ever in my 6 years of visiting and living in Croatia. One bumped into me very hard, and that was it.

If you see them, just avoid them
